Saint Matthews Cathedral

The cornerstone for Saint Matthews Cathedral was laid in 1893 after being designed by New York architect, C. Grant La Farge. The "Red Mass," is celebrated here annually and attended by Supreme Court justices, members of Congress, the Cabinet, diplomatic corps, and other government departments, sometimes including the President of the United States. President John F. Kennedy's funeral Mass was held at Saint Matthews on November 25, 1963.

MarChuk Construction Company Inc's work at the Cathedral includes a complete renovation of the Sacristy stairs, the Sacristy Workroom providing a functional work/break area and kitchen, renovation of the Great Hall and restoration of the front doors, and a complete renovation of the Rectory residential area including mechanical and electrical upgrades.
