Fort Myer
Arlington, Virginia

Fort Myer, Virginia, is an army post located adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery and across the Potomac River from Washington, DC. The fort is recorded on the National Register of Historic Places, originally established as Fort Whipple in 1863. Fort Myer traces its origin as a military post to the Civil War and has been an important Signal Corps post and a showcase for Army Calvary.

MarChuk Construction Company Inc has completed several projects at Fort Myer. Our most recent project was repairs to a historic porch on the Garrison Commander Building. Work included demolition of the existing porch deck and frame, excavation of the entire perimeter of the building, waterproofing the foundation wall, backfilling, landscaping, new structural framing, new tongue and groove wood decking to match the existing, and painting.
